Yorkville Park at the rock warms the heart even in winter

Heart of Yorkville is between bay and avenue rd on yorkville and between bay and avenue rd on cumberland. That's where everything happens from great business deals, investments to dating. when you walk in yorkville, makes you feel like you are an hollywood star...makes you feel good..forget about the real life for a few minutes...:)

The heart of Yorkville has changed and the many condominiums now make up the area where people live and shop daily.

An area of Toronto with a heartbeat that energizes; luring you into enticing shops, galleries, and restaurants and so to spend, spend, spend!

For me the heart of Yorkville is the Coffee Mill.It is unique in its setting and in its atmosphere. It has been a home away from home for over forty years.I particularly love the outdoor patio.

The park is the heart, with the rocks and trees and the cafes surrounding, a place for children and dogs. Music and seats to relax. Even in winter when the waterfall freezes it is beautiful to see, and when it is decorated at Christmas time, with lights and frozen Ice Carvings, so cleverly done, it is magnificent.

The park outside on Cumberland St- Everyone gathered together there for their lunch today-- it was so beautiful outside! What a way to spend your lunch break!

"The heart of Yorkville is the "'Village of Yorkville Park'"
This gorgeous beauty of a park exists where a parking lot once stood and is enjoyed by city of Toronto folks, office workers, and out-of-towner's alike."

In 1923, Toronto Hebrew Maternity and Convalescent Hospital was opened at 100 Yorkville Avenue and a year later the name was changed to Mount Sinai Hospital. The facade of this building still stands today and houses retailer Teatro Verde. So the Heart could be at Teatro Verde.

The park across from Sassafraz, at any time of day people and dogs can be seen co-mingling and having a great time. A heart is not about money, drinking, eating or posing, its about the enjoyment of each others company.

Yorkville Ave.has been a happening place for decades from the old village to the place to be in the 60's to today's elegant shops and restaurants. It is the "heart" and the rest flourishes because of it.

The heart of yorkville isn't a place, rather an atmosphere, passion, sentiment and the heartbeat that gives this Toronto area its unique feel. All of the Yorkville residents, businesses, streets, shoppers and visitors represent the heart of Yorkville.

It's been the sexiest part of Toronto all my life.

People coming & going, for bus., work or pleasure. Special groups like 'The Art Walk' serving as an introduction or home roost to many, near or far. The rhythm of feet as people & pets walk/run to and from points. The rhythm of hearts as one becomes excited from a gallery, hotel, shop or restaurant experience. This is the Heart of Yorkville!

I relate more to the Yorkville of the seventies when it was a vibrant bohemian playground... Today it's a luxury shopping mecca, and I don't enjoy shopping, but I still enjoy eating and there are a number of great places for a dining experience, yet I miss the coffee houses and the folk music. Can anyone out there bring back some folk music?

East on Cumberland and west on Yorkville. The entire stretch of luxury cars, extreme fashion, hot summer nights with a crystal ball......or a bite to eat at a small cafe. It is the surreal sense of money with starstruck possibility at every corner. Right to the core.....we celebrate Toronto`s `LITTLE BIG APPLE`.

Yorkville is good for my heart and soul; Strolling around Yorkville is a mini escape; sometimes walking through Ramsden park; along Yorkville; taking in a museum, walking into an art gallery; anytime I need a break for an hour here and there to get back some me time from my hectic schedule.

Mr. Ferri and his group who do much with walks to make the rest of us aware of the art, restaurants and businesses there. Makes for the enrichment of our lives.

"The Coffee Mill has been in existance for at least 40 years. To me, it represents the very heart of Yorkville. It has been a meeting place for intellectuals and just plain folk for all of these years."
G.C.
The Heart of Yorkville is Cumberland Street from Avenue Road to Yonge Street; the centre of the Heart is the Park and the 'Rock' where everyone gathers in the Summer for music, in the winter for sculptures, it is surrounded by restaurants on both sides ...a great place to be and watch the'people going by'!!!!
Maureen Kwok
Between Avenue and Bellair, South of Scollard and No of Cumberland.  The Village of Yorkville Park.

The corner of Hazelton Avenue and Yorkville including the circle around it, solidly noting the One outdoor cafe, and stretching a block in all directions to include a whisk of Scollard and Hazelton, a piece of Old York Lane, barely to Bellair and including the entrance to The Four Seasons Hotel.
R.M.
The heart of Yorkville is the Yorkville district, all of this small zone is the centre of interest because of its trendy art shops and galleries and cafes and extraordinary restaurants and boutiques and gourmet tastes.....there is no one spot that comprises the heart as such. It's all or nothing!
Grace Cale
it is the large stone/glacial shield that was transported here to "reside" surrounded by Yorkville's modern shops and cafes that gives us pause to appreciate the old and the new. This encompasses Yorkville, some older structures/ mixed with shiny new. From great galleries to fashion boutiques.

L.P.
Yorkville = the sexiest part of Toronto = Yonge...BLoor.... Avenue Rd... Hazleton/ Davenport.....

Back in 1989 before the greedy developers ripped the heart and soul from it.
